A shipping and receiving clerk manages the flow of goods in and out of a warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, packaging, and shipping while also inspecting incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies .
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Update inventory records and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Shipping: Package and weigh items, print shipping labels and postage, and schedule shipments.
- Communication: Collaborate with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, and other relevant personnel.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Warehouse Operations: Assist with general warehouse tasks, such as loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Receiving and Unloading: Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspection: Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate parties.
