Position Summary:
The Technician Maintenance General is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components. This role involves evaluating and recommending equipment improvements to enhance efficiency, capability, and yield.
Essential Job Functions:
- Preventive Maintenance and Repairs (10%): Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems.
- Adjustments and Replacements (10%): Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
- Inspections (10%): Inspect maintenance systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
- Troubleshooting (10%): Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
- Repairs (10%): Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
- Technical Reporting (10%): Prepare technical reports to document preventive maintenance issues.
- Failure Analysis (10%): Perform equipment failure analyses, including preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
- Inventory Management (10%): Maintain and secure a spare parts inventory, recommend purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Equipment Improvement (5%): Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to enhance efficiency, capability, and yield.
- System Testing (5%): Observe and test system operation using gauges and instruments.
- Assistance (5%): Assist higher-level technicians as needed.
- Other Duties (5%): Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and present a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and various shifts (1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd).
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35- and 95-degrees Fahrenheit, occasionally exceeding 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head.
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
- Required to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles.
- Noise levels range from normal office levels to loud factory/warehouse levels.
- Maintenance Technician:
- Relevant experience in maintenance, electrical work, industrial maintenance, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics maintenance.
- Experience with night and overnight shifts.
- Experience in electrical work, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics maintenance.
- Ability to work night and overnight shifts.
- Various roles with experience in industrial maintenance and electrical work:
- Candidates with a background in industrial maintenance, electrical work, and related fields have successfully transitioned to the role of Technician Maintenance General.
