Job Title: Lead Specialist – Commercial Lending
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ET
Late Shift: One shift/month, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM
Location: Brooklyn, OH 44144 or Amherst, NY 14226


Position Summary

The Lead Specialist plays a key role in supporting commercial lending operations by processing loan transactions, maintaining accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and SBA regulations. This position is part of a high-performing team focused on delivering excellent service to internal and external clients and supporting commercial portfolio growth. Responsibilities range from moderate to complex tasks, requiring attention to detail and occasional independent decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support via phone and written communication

  • Process monetary transactions and loan maintenance accurately and timely

  • Ensure compliance with SBA regulations (including 7(a) and 504 programs)

  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy

  • Research and resolve service requests and account discrepancies

  • Perform scheduled and non-scheduled system maintenance

  • Reconcile general ledger entries and resolve posting issues

  • Handle tasks in CLS, CL3, LoanIQ, and related systems

  • Execute requests received through internal databases and service platforms

  • Generate reports and ensure data accuracy to minimize client impact


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field

  • 2 years of experience in commercial lending, preferably SBA-focused

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Knowledge of SBA loan programs (7(a), 504)

Preferred:

  • Experience with CLS/CL3, LoanIQ systems

  • Prior exposure to general ledger balancing and accounting processes

  • Proven ability to manage complex issues and make sound decisions
