Nesco Resource is looking for An Experienced Maintenance Technician for a Metal Extrusion Client in Livonia, MI. This is a Direct Hire role. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply!

Shift: 2 nd shift, 3 pm to 1 am, Monday through Friday
Pay Rate: 25/hr to 30/hr, per level of experience


***Required training is completed on days from 7 am to 3 pm, M-F and 5 am to 1 pm Sat until fully completed***

Job Duties:

  • Perform installations, troubleshooting, and repairs to various electrical and mechanical systems with minimal supervision
  • Identify components and cause for parts breakdowns/malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot power transmission components, bearings, belts, cams, etc.
  • Perform electronic component replacement per familiarity and/or prior training
  • Respond to requests by maintenance supervisor or support personnel and arrange by priority to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools, including calipers, dial indicators, electrical meters, and other diagnostic and measurement devices.
  • Utilize measurement devices to ensure industry standards are met went completing machine repairs and assembly
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life
  • Recommend improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks when applicable including updated drawings/prints
  • Suggests spare parts and suitable replacements

Job Requirements:
  • Certified Maintenance Technician with minimum of 1 years of repair experience including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components
  • Recent working experience with various mechanical manufacturing equipment in extrusion presses, brake presses, cranes, lift trucks, etc.
  • Working experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Working knowledge of industrial, mechanical, and electrical codes, techniques, and standards
  • Understand/interpret written directions and/or schematics to perform calculations to specify components.
  • Ability to use electrical troubleshooting skills to include a multi-meter, megger tester, amp meter, etc.
  • Possess a knowledge of and demonstrate practical applications to all ISO, MIOSHA, and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to read and understand Ladder logic for troubleshooting programmable logic, parametric, and industrial control systems.
  • Possess familiarity with spare parts inventory control system.
  • Must be able to lift varying weights up to 75lbs.
  • Must provide own tools/toolbox-cart.

Special Circumstances of the Job:
  • Some travel may be required to other sites (15 mile-radius)
  • Works overtime as required and assigned
