Nesco Resource is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist located in Windsor, CT. This is a direct placement opportunity for the right candidate.
Shift: Monday-Friday 2PM-10:30PM
Pay: $30-$40/hour depending on experience
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with a strong background in milling to join our manufacturing team. This role requires a motivated individual with 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC milling, including programming, setting up, and operating 3- and 4-axis machines. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to precision, and a deep understanding of machining processes. This position is ideal for candidates looking to be moved into an Engineering role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, program, and monitor CNC milling machines (3- and 4-axis)
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Perform machine setups including tooling, fixturing, and program loading
- Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure product accuracy
- Troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to programs or machine settings
- Maintain tight tolerances and high standards of surface finish
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work area
- Collaborate with engineers and production team to optimize machining processes
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC milling experience
- Proficient in setup and operation of CNC machines, particularly 3- and 4-axis mills
- Strong understanding of G-code and CNC programming fundamentals
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
- High attention to detail and quality
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus
- Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methods
- Prior work in aerospace, automotive, or medical manufacturing environments
