Position Title: Compounder I
Shift: 1st -Mon-Thur-5am-3:30pm
Classification: Temp - Hire, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay:Starting-$21.00hr.
General Description:
The Compounder I is responsible for weighing and manufacturing product batches according to formula procedures and operating processing equipment in one or more functions of manufacturing. This position is under the direct supervision of the Compounding Supervisor and Sr. Compounding Supervisor.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Functions:

Batch Preparation:

Weigh ingredients according to formulas and written procedures using approved/calibrated scales.

Ensure all ingredients are weighed and placed into proper sanitized containers.

Use Drum Manipulator to transfer ingredients to holding tanks or containers without waste.

Compounding & Mixing:
-
Compound lotions, creams, shampoos, soap products, drinks, etc., by combining and mixing ingredients per formula and written procedures.

Operate processing equipment (pumps, tanks, mixers, etc.) efficiently and safely.

Sampling & Quality Control:
-
Draw product samples from tanks for lab testing.
-
Initial batch sheets and sign tank cards to verify that formulas/procedures were followed.

Identify and report incorrectly prepared batches to Supervisors.
-
Correctly prepare batches by following written procedures and applying math skills.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance:
-
Wash, sanitize, and set up necessary manufacturing equipment using cGMP procedures.

Make minor repairs, including cleaning air conditioning vents and insulation of pipework.

Adjust mixer speeds as necessary.

Inventory & Safety:
-
Use current inventory systems (e.g., RF Gen) for weighing and tracking ingredients.
-
Safely operate forklifts to move pallets, drums, and tanks.
-
Follow Company SOPs, safety guidelines, and OSHA recommendations for compounded products.

Additional Duties:

Fill in for employees on vacation or call-ins.

Assist packaging and lab personnel when needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Understand the full compounding process.
-
Knowledge of safe forklift operation or ability to be trained.

Ability to read and follow formulas, procedures, and equipment instructions in English.

Ability to accurately convert measurements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Familiarity with current inventory systems (e.g., RF Gen).
Physical Requirements:

Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
-
Manual dexterity for record-keeping.
-
Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time.

Ability to bend, squat, kneel, balance, turn, and stoop.

Good eye/hand coordination.

Ability to safely operate and drive a forklift.

Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet.

Ability to meet and follow all OSHA recommendations per product compounded.
Education and/or Experience Required:
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
1 year of work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

1 year of work experience in compounding required.
