Job Description: Production Planning Assistant
Location: Elyria, OH
Shift: 1st (Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm. Hours could vary candidate's choice)
Salary: $20-24 an hour
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Planning Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for organizing production batches, managing Kosher certifications, confirming customer orders, updating inventory levels, and ensuring that all planning and production processes run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Batch Coordination:
- Assemble and organize production batches once planning releases are delivered to production.
- Collaborate with planners to manage Kosher batches, oversee the release process, and coordinate with a Rabbi for kosher stamping.
- Order Management & Customer Coordination:
- Plan for both bulk and small pack production and confirm customer orders.
- Liaise with the production team on small pack schedules and communicate with customer service to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner.
- Raw Material & Process Order Updates:
- Update notes in process orders and customer orders based on raw material estimated time of arrivals (ETA).
- Work with planners to confirm order dates and help align customer orders based on the ETA of raw materials.
- Master Data Management:
- Ensure that master data is accurately updated to reflect the correct Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), rounding values, and other MRP data.
- Inventory & Packaging Coordination:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure packaging materials are ordered and available for use in plant operations.
- Cross-Training and Support:
- Collaborate with other planners for cross-training opportunities and provide assistance with production planning tasks when necessary.
- Goods Issue Transactions:
- Serve as a backup for processing Goods Issue transactions to support production operations.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as required to support the production and planning teams.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or Associate's degree required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an operations environment, preferably within the Flavor, Fragrance, Food Ingredients, or related industries.
- Certifications: APICS or NAPM (ISM) certification is a plus.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Strong aptitude for working with numbers in an MRP materials management environment.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills to interface effectively with various teams within the organization and external vendors.
