Job Title: Electrical Assembly Technician
Location: Rochester, NY
Summary: We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. In this full-time, temp-to-perm role, you'll assemble a variety of electrical and electronic systems including industrial control panels, test racks, cable harnesses, and prototype circuits. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on assembly experience who enjoys working with precision in a fast-paced environment.
Shift
- Day Shift | 40 hours per week
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule
Pay
- Based on experience and qualifications ($18.00 - $26.00 an Hour)
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and wire run lists
- Identify and work with electro-mechanical components such as switches, relays, transformers, and power supplies
- Assemble cables and harnesses using hand tools and crimping tools
- Solder components and build custom control panels, test racks, and chassis assemblies
- Use electrical test instruments such as digital multimeters (DMMs)
- (Preferred but not required): Build prototype circuits (breadboards, wire wrap, PCB)
- (Preferred but not required): Operate machine shop tools and assemble pneumatic systems based on schematics
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree from a technical college preferred
- Minimum of five years of related electrical/electronic assembly experience
- Familiarity with IPC standards is a strong plus:
- IPC-A-610: Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
- IPC-A-620: Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
- IPC-J-STD-001: Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high-quality workmanship
- Strong attention to detail and a dependable work ethic
