Direct hire 1st shift for CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer ob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer with expertise in Tornos machines to join our precision machining team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setup, and operation of CNC Swiss-type lathes to manufacture complex, tight-tolerance components. This role is critical to maintaining production efficiency, part quality, and on-time delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Tornos Swiss CNC lathes using [insert CAM software, e.g., Esprit, GibbsCAM, etc.]

  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.

  • Set up Swiss lathes, including tooling, work holding, and machine offsets.

  • Optimize machining processes for cycle time reduction and improved tool life.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining or program-related issues.

  • Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and continuous improvement.

  • Maintain machine maintenance and cleanliness standards.

  • Keep accurate documentation of programs, setups, and process changes.


Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in CNC Swiss Lathe programming, setup, and operation, specifically with Tornos machines.

  • Strong understanding of G-code and CNC programming principles.

  • Experience working with tight tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.

  • Familiarity with CAM software and/or conversational programming interfaces.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tornos DECO, GT, or SwissNano series machines.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

  • Background in medical, aerospace, or high-precision component manufacturing.
