Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector
Location: Gates, NY
Summary: Join our team as a Quality Assurance Inspector and play a key role in ensuring product integrity through inspections, audits, and testing. You will be responsible for performing in-process and final inspections, verifying compliance with industry standards, and working closely with the Quality Manager to resolve any issues. If you have experience with blueprints, GD&T, and precision measuring tools, this position is perfect for you. Two positions available, one for both A and B shift schedules, as below.
Pay Rate:
- $19 – $28 per hour DOE
Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Flexible start times at 6:00, 6:30, or 7:00 AM), Monday – Friday
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday – Friday
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual and product tests for defects and evaluate results.
- Complete and interpret inspection paperwork and blueprints, including GD&T.
- Inspect incoming jobs from subcontractors for quality assurance.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using various measuring equipment.
- Notify the Quality Manager of any significant quality concerns.
- Ensure measuring equipment calibration is within tolerance and meets timeframes.
- Assist in developing department projects and collaborate with the QA Manager.
- Provide coverage for quality assurance personnel when needed.
- Analyze processes for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.
- Conduct First Article Inspections for new or modified tooling.
- Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Requires sitting, talking, hearing, and frequent use of hands.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Work environment noise level ranges from low to loud.
- Ability to solve practical and abstract problems with minimal standardization.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of quality control experience.
- Experience with Sheffield or Zeiss CMM (preferred).
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as Gauges, Micrometers, Calipers, etc.
- GD&T experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and math skills.
- Proficiency with computers and software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
