Job Summary
Responsible for operating assigned equipment used in executing metal finishing operations by performing the following duties.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Load and unload tote pans of parts, stack parts in baskets, racks and/or barrels, rack, unrack, clean, etch, desmut, pickle, bright dip dye, degrease, heat treat, plate, coat, wet process, and dry parts using electric hoists and manual lifting.
- Follow prescribed procedures for processing.
- Fill baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be processed and lower material into appropriate tank.
- Remove parts when process is completed.
- Maintain cleanliness of tanks and work areas.
- Monitor temperature of solutions.
- Maintain daily production logs.
- Physically inspect processing to ensure quality of product.
- Perform general utility work, material handling, assist with chemical handling and solution maintenance, and record keeping as needed.
- Troubleshoot simple to moderate problems.
- Ensure quality of product produced.
- Perform other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
- High school or general education degree (GED); or equivalent months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate and percent.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Must have a basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to the job, and the ability to solve problems.

Contractors are required to wear steel or composite toe safety shoes and long sleeves.
